A school trip to Filsinger's Organic Apple Farm

This past Wednesday R's Sk class and N's Jk class went to Filsinger's Apple Farm on a field trip. The weather was cold, windy, rainy and N was still not feeling well but was really excited to go so after I gave her some Advil and we were off. R's teacher asked me to help out and I was the group leader for R and three of her friends. Even though it wasn't a cheerful day we still enjoyed ourselves on the hay ride through the apple orchard. After the hay ride we went on a tour inside and we able to watch how they washed and sorted the apples and how they made the apple cider vinegar. Later we  were treated with some apple cider, apple slices and some crackers and apple butter. Yum:)

R being silly.

In the big fridge. It had boxes and boxes full of apples!

Our little group. So cute:)

N with her best friend

The few apples that our group picked. We had to make sure that the stem was still on the apple after it was picked or the apple would rot quickly. Hmm.. we learned something new.

A high reach for N
Lots of fun.

These day I just don't seem to have enough time to post. I haven't been working on any projects and my camera is now fixed so I can at least post some pictures.
This long weekend I hosted a dinner at our place for my parents, sisters and my cousin, his wife and three children! It went really well!!! We had lots of food and lots of leftovers. Since I was busy with the food prep my sister took a few photos. I wish she would have taken some more but this is it!

My kiddos are the three munchkins in the middle! They all look so cute!

On evenings like this when it's getting dark and starting to rain, I like to have my candles on and enjoy family time. Coffee is brewing as I type this and the German apple cake that I made earlier is waiting to be enjoyed. DH and the girls are in the family room just about to start a puzzle so I though I'd do a quick post while waiting for the coffee.

Here are some things that have gone on my to make list:

An Electrified Fox Lamp from Matsutake found here. How cute would this be?

And what about this adorable and multi-functional pin cushion. I do not have a pin cushion. It's crazy, I know, but it is what it is. I just never got around to making one and couldn't bare the thought of buying one when I could make a nice one myself. Since this is pretty simple to make it's going to be on the top of my list! Do you want to make one? Click here for the tutorial from little paper dog.

Well, until next time. I might actually have some finished project to post. My camera is acting up so I'll see if DH can have a look at it tonight. Good Night:)

Lemon-Rosemary Chicken Bake

Let's just say YUM! This dish was amazing! The flavours were amazing and my house had a wonderful smell while it was in the oven. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my dish. I was in a hurry to get dinner on the table because we all had to head over to the school for a Meet the Teacher / Book Fair night! I'll just let you know that there wasn't any leftovers:) Here is a photo of what it looks like from Sparkling Ink.You can get this recipe here.

Patched up pants

I've been meaning to do this for a while now! I love these pants but C got a hole in them last year and I didn't want to get rid of them just yet. I had some felt lying around and she loved the idea of having some pink hearts on her pants. I like the blanket stitch around the hearts. I think it adds to the cuteness.
I'm sure C will let everyone at school know that she had a hole in her pants and that mom patched it up with a heart. The heart on the back pocket is just added for fun!

They'll be gone from me all day even the two in Kindergarten. Our school here has Sr. Kindergarten and Jr. Kindergarten as all day, every day. I think the girls can handle it but, can I?
