a haircut!!

After a very very long time of persuading C decided that she would get a haircut. We called Cookie Cutters which is a hair salon for children to see if they had any spots open. After confirming that they did they asked us if we wanted to donate C's hair. C wanted to right away. She wanted to be able to help little children that were sick and lost their hair and I was so proud of her. Before we left we took some before pictures...

Getting prepped up at Cookie Cutters... she was a little unsure already by this point. She was afraid that they would cut off too much. They need 10 inches for a wig and she had plenty.

Measuring out her hair...

Snip, snap off it goes, she's crying at this point. She was very scared that they had cut off too much. Being the first time she's had a hair cut it was a very big deal for her.
The whole time she was saying that she wanted us to put her hair back:( Poor kid!!
Not even after a new clip for her hair was she convinced that her haircut looked so cute and that her hair would grow back quickly.
awww! hahah, I have to laugh. She was so cute and so very sad:(

Since she was donating her hair she got her picture taken with her new haircut and the hair that was cut off and the pictures went into an album that had pictures of other little girls that donated their hair.

No more pictures. I think she's had enough. Wasn't very happy with me!

After a few new accessories she was starting to warm up to the haircut. Plus, her aunt and grandma dropped by to see and that made her happy.

A picture with mom is always a good thing too:D From there on she was showing everyone we met her new haircut and everyone lived happily ever after!

Parry Sound

This past Saturday we packed up some things and headed up to Parry Sound with our company. My cousins daughter and her husband are here from Serbia and were spending the weekend with us so we thought we'd show them around:)
We had amazing weather. It was perfect for the 30,000 Island Cruise. We took the Island Queen on a Three - Hour Afternoon outer island Wilderness Cruise. It was beautiful. Here are a few pictures. If you've never been to Parry Sound, on the 30,000 Island Cruise and you live somewhere close to the area I suggest you go this summer. Here is the website you can check out for more info. www.islandqueencruise.com

Smocked, Smocked, Smocked

I'm having so much fun! I love Smocking:) Here I used a half yard and made this top. I measured it on C but N modeled it for me and that is why the straps are a bit long. I love this fabric. Cute, cute. It's part of the Castle themed fabric that I got. I have this in pink as well. So, I walked to the mailbox today.... and the mailbox was fulllllllllllll of fun stuff for me! I want to post some yummy stuff that I got. It's suppose to storm here and that's a good thing. I love summer thunderstorms:)

sewing, sewing, in my dining room....

Sewing, sewing, in my dining room. When days are hot, when days are cold, in my dining room. Fabric, elastic, fancy buttons too. Oh don't you wish that you could sewing in your dining room? ( Sung to Swimming, swimming in my swimming pool)

So, yes, I did post earlier today but, since I did end up finishing three dresses, one for each girl out of the new fabric I though I should post them for you to see.
The girls love the new dresses. We had quite the photo shoot. Lots of fun!
I was on a roll with the dresses. They just appeared before me when I was at the sewing machine. I have a few more to do. It will have to wait until tomorrow, it's 10pm and I need to get the kiddos to bed. It's been a loooooooooooong hot day!

Ahhhh!! Just what I needed:)

What a day today! It was barely 8 am and I was bored. The girls were finished with breakfast, the laundry finish, the dishes in the dishwasher... It was going to be a long day!! Not every day happens to be like this one and since today was that kind of day I pulled out my stuff to sew. Then around 10am the doorbell rings and there was our mail carrier with a package for me! Wooohooo!! More fabric! I'm so excited. She also told me that there's another package in the mailbox ( down the street) so, I get the kids and myself ready and head over there to pick up my other package!! More fabric!!:):) Beautiful stuff. Have a look yourself! Then off to Timmies for a coffee and back home. I have the kids upstairs down for a nap and I'm all ready to go!

Mmmm... even though is 29 degrees outside my coffee tastes ever so good. The Timmies Ice Coffee is good too and we loooooooooove Starbucks. The kids are stuck on Strawberry and Cream Frappuccinos!! This could get really expensive! Off I go then. I have a few hours before it's time to start supper... I hope you all enjoy your day!

These Jell-o cups are ever so yummy and very, very, very easy to make! Need something quick but impressive for company? You could whip these up just a few hours before your company arrives. I got the recipie from kraftcanada.com

2 1/2 cups of boiling water
2 pkgs. Jell-o powder ( any flavour that you like)
2 cups thawed cool whip whipped topping

Add boiling water to Jell-0 powder in a medium bowl and mix with whisk about 2 minutes or until the powder is dissolved. Add the Cool Whip and mix until well blended.
Pour into cups and stick in the fridge for about 3 hours or until firm.
Garnish with additional cool whip if you want.
